Transportation System Assurance Officer Certificate
Description: This three-tier certification provides incontrovertible proof that they can function within the Transportation System Security domain. Based on a learning progression, this certification is a significant investment in terms of time and effort, one that can be rewarded through clearly demonstrating capabilities well beyond that of the average practitioner in the field.
The following describes the general breakdown of the certification:

Level I certification is achieved following completion of one mode based course (marine, aviation, pipeline, rail, surface, or mass transit) and the 1-day workshop focussing on Transportation Systems;

Level II certification is achieved following completion of two or more mode based courses, the interface workshop and the 3-day course on Transportation System Assurance; and
-
Level III certification is achieved following completion of three or more mode based courses, the interface workshop and the 5-day intensive course on Transportation System Assurance Officer course.

Establishment of Security Management Systems
A Security Management System is a dynamic and learning management structure that brings together and builds upon the strengths of a range of asset protection programs. By integrating the efforts of these programs and unifying their focus, organizations stand to realize a efficiencies. Concurrently, the Security Management System can represent a best practice or sound application of a number of security principles in support of a range of programs or compliance with ISO standards.
The Security Management System can be tailored and implemented at a single infrastructure point or, with some coordination, across a range of facilities and organizations working within a common structure or with a common goal in mind.
Given the nature of these systems and the detail it requires to integrate them properly (reducing the risks associated with significant disruptions to operations), we generally prefer to accomplish this through longer term contracts.
These projects generally involve teams of experts in Security Management and in parallel domains. Consequently pricing is available only through quotes based upon a description of the organization, its immediate need and what it hopes to accomplish.

Security training is based upon communicating principles enshrined in sound principles and accepted doctrine in a way that is pertinent to your organization. The structure of these courses may range from awareness sessions (simple presentation of facts and examples) through to training including testing.
On average, training costs can be roughly estimated at $500 per person per day of the course.

Marine Security Officer Training
Description: Recognized by Transport Canada (CSO, PSO, MFSO under the voluntary regime and SSO provisionally recognized under the SCTW regime), this 5 day course provides candidates with an intensive experience intended to prepare them for duties as a security officer within the marine environment.
Expectations: Each candidate will be expected to arrive having completed a pre-reading package, complete the 5-day course, complete the practical assignment and then pass the 3-hour written examination (70%). For those that are seeking formal SSO certification, Transport Canada requirements associated with seafarer status and identification will also be required (this does not affect the company or port security elements).
Return: For those that meet the Transport Canada requirements for certification as per the SCTW requirements, the formal certification as an SSO will be offered to candidates in addition to the Company, Port and Marine Facility Security Officer. Additionally, this course will count towards the Level I certification for the Transportation System Assurance Officer certification.
Course sizes are limited to under 20 persons, include refreshments throughout the day and involve instructors being available for after-hour study groups, QA sessions or other guidance at no additional charge.

Depending upon the goals of the evaluation, these coordinated activities can include assistance in drills and exercises, administrative reviews, administrative investigations, inspections, audits or even, in exceptional circumstances, red team evaluations.
All activities are carefully coordinated and conducted with pre-set goals and objectives established.
These projects generally involve teams across various kinds of expertise, consequently pricing is based on a quote basis only.

Security doctrine included within these courses has undergone critical evaluation (including technical reviews by highly trained and multiply certified individuals) or is drawn from bodies of knowledge put forward by professional associations. This doctrine is then applied into the appropriate environment in consultation with a range of operators and others with significant experience in the field.
